  • Judging from the wording of the media notice, Minister of State for Science and Technology Ed Holder is prepared to cede centre stage to Don Valley West MP John Carmichael, who will take the lead at the announcement of a "significant investment" in research and development throughout Toronto, which will be followed by a tour of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to "celebrate the research and advances" being made therein.
  • North of the city, Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford hands out money and meets with stakeholders during back-to-back events at the Advanced Medical Research Institute of Canada and the Greater Sudbury Airport.
  • Moving west, Aboriginal Affairs Minister Bernard Valcourt joins Alberta Premier Jim Prentice and "other distinguished guests" as they unveil fresh funding for First Nations communities throughout the province.
  • Finally, Minister of State for Seniors Alice Wong shares the latest news on "internationally educated health professionals" at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond.
