Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is set to join his MPs in London, where a two-day closed-door caucus retreat is slated to get underway this morning.

Although the meeting itself is, of course, off-limits to media, Trudeau is slated to make himself available to reporters during the noon-hour lunch break, and is also expected to join local supporters for an evening rally at the London Ukrainian Centre.

Meanwhile, New Democrat Leader Tom Mulcair pays a mid-morning visit to a Toronto child care centre to highlight "the importance of giving middle class families a break in the next federal budget."

Later today, the NDP leader makes his way to Brantford, where he'll join candidate-in-waiting Marc Laferriere at his official nomination meeting, which will also serve as the launch of his campaign, which already has a slogan: "Marc your vote."

Back in the capital, Canadian Heritage Minister Shelly Glover speaks at an early evening reception hosted by the Canadian Council for the Arts after wrapping up its annual public meeting.

Other events on Tuesday's ministerial circuit:

  • Justice Minister Peter MacKay continues his cross-country tour with back-to-back funding announcements in Quebec, starting with a morning stop at Motivacation Jeunesse in Quebec City before trekking to Montreal for a mid-afternoon appearance at the Batshaw Youth and Family Centres.
  • Also in Montreal today: Infrastructure Minister Denis Lebel, who will team up with Montreal Port Authority president Sylvie Vachon and Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre to share "important" news on his government's support for the facility.
  • Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford spends another day doling out federal cash in Northern Ontario, with Cochrane, Kirkland Lake and Timmins on the itinerary for today.
  • Elsewhere in Ontario, Minister of State for FedDev Ontario Gary Goodyear drops by Brantford-based Patriot Forge Co. with a fresh instalment of support from Ottawa, while International Trade Minister Ed Fast and local MP Paul Calandra co-host an "export workshop" in Maple.
  • Moving west to Saskatoon, Minister of State for Science Ed Holder unveils still more money earmarked for "state-of-the-art research infrastructure" during a visit to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, while his junior cabinet colleague Michelle Rempel outlines the details of a new investment to "benefit research innovation."
  • Finally, National Revenue Minister Kerry-Lynne Findlay heads to Hard Rock Casino Vancouver to represent her government at the Canadian launch of Facebook's Small Business Boost event, while local MP Wai Young holds a mid-morning press conference to detail plans to fund "efforts to reduce injuries, accidents, and deaths in B.C.'s fishing industry."
