Liberals vying for the leadership of the federal Liberal Party will gather in Mississauga, Ont., on Saturday for the third of five debates before a new party leader is elected on April 14.

All eyes will be on MP Marc Garneau who threw down the gauntlet this week after directly challenging front-runner and fellow Quebec MP Justin Trudeau to state his priorities.
"As Liberals we can not afford to wait until after the leadership race to find out what we signed up for," the former astronaut said in Ottawa on Wednesday.
"Justin has stated that now is not the time to tell Liberals, to tell Canadians, where he stands and what his plan is for the country. He has said he will do this after the leadership race, sometime before the next election in 2015. In my opinion, this is the same as asking Canadians to buy a new car without test-driving it.
"He has told Canadians that we need a bold plan and a clear vision without defining either. On Justin's two clear priorities, the middle class and youth engagement he has said nothing," Garneau said.
However, Trudeau has shared his position on certain issues.
For instance, during his first national English broadcast interview after entering the leadership race, Trudeau told CBC Radio's The House on Dec. 1 that he is against the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline, that he's in favour of legalizing marijuana, that he would reverse the federal government's decision to raise the age of eligibility from 65 to 67, and that he would not raise the GST.
Trudeau has also called the now defunct federal long-gun registry "a failure" during an Ontario campaign stop in the Conservative riding of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.
He also said while he is in favour of carbon pricing, he does not know whether he will favour a carbon tax or a cap-and-trade system.
Garneau will have the opportunity to challenge Trudeau directly when the two are paired up in the first of a series of one-on-one debates.
The themes of the debate will range from the role of the federal government within the federation, the future of the middle class, transit and infrastructure, job creation, immigration, international trade, and reconnecting with Canadian voters.
Unlike the first two debates, there will be no opening or closing statements.
Each one-on-one debate will last three minutes.
Liberal candidate Deborah Coyne, who is the mother of Trudeau's half-sister, will also have the opportunity to question Trudeau directly.
After the one-on-one debates, the candidates will take questions from the audience and then debate the subject matter in groups of three.
Each debate in groups of three will last about five minutes.
Trudeau will come face-to-face with Garneau a second time during this round when the two are matched up with lawyer George Takach.
The front-runner will also face Coyne a second time during a debate with former Liberal MP Martha Hall Findlay.
The debate will be moderated by Cornwall city councillor and former Liberal candidate Bernadette Clément.
